About the stuggle:

The State of Israel has been haunting the residents of the small village of Arakib for ten years

In order to expel the inhabitants, they are completely avoided from water and electricity, their fields are sprayed with poison, their trees uprooted and their homes destroyed repeatedly At the same time, the state is running a long and exhausting legal campaign in which it refuses to recognize maps, documents and ownership notes. For Israel all the Bedouin lands is state lands. Since July 2010, the State of Israel has destroyed the village of Al-Arakib 170 times. After each demolition, the village was rebuilt. Huge power, millions of shekels and tremendous resources are invested in trying to clear this little piece of land. Bedouin citizens can only respond in Sumud- They do not leave the land In recent months, the State of Israel has decided to intensify the pressure on the village - more frequent demolitions, arrests incarcerations, confiscations, investigations and criminal court cases Despite it, residents of Al Arakib, women, men and children, continue to struggle

The residents rebuild the village every time under impossible circumstances. They live in minimal conditions and fight to maintain a routine that allows them to work and their children to get the basic right for education

L'État d'Israël hante les habitants du petit village d’Al Araqib depuis dix ans .Afin d'expulser les habitants, ils sont complètement évités de l'eau et de l'électricité, leurs champs sont aspergés de poison, leurs arbres déracinés et leurs maisons détruites à plusieurs reprises. Au même temps, l'État mène une longue campagne judiciaire épuisante dans laquelle il refuse de reconnaître les cartes, les documents des droits de propriété. Pour Israël, toutes les terres bédouines sont vues comme des terres d'État. Depuis juillet 2010, l'État d'Israël a détruit 170 fois le village d’Al-Araqib.Après chaque démolition, le village a été reconstruit. Des grands investissements d’énergie , des millions de shekels et d'énormes ressources humaines sont investis pour essayer de récupérer ce petit morceau de terre. Les citoyens bédouins ne peuvent répondre qu'à Sumud. C.A.D. ils ne quittent pas leur terre. Ces derniers mois, l'état d'Israël a décidé d'intensifier la pression sur le village - démolitions plus fréquentes, arrestations, incarcérations, confiscations, enquêtes et affaires pénales. Malgré cela, les résidents d'Al Araqib, femmes, hommes et enfants, continuent de lutter.
Les habitants reconstruisent le village chaque fois dans des circonstances impossibles. Ils vivent dans des conditions minimales et se battent pour maintenir une routine quotidienne qui leur permet de travailler et leurs enfants d'obtenir le droit fondamental à l’éducation.

How will the villagers use the money?

The heaviest price is paid by the villagers in their Sisyphean struggle, our duty is to be with them in solidarity and fight with them and help is also economic. Residents squat under the financial burden of legal expenses, of the ruins and confiscations of their equipment, of their destroyed fields. Only the land ownership legal case in addition to the professional opinion accompanying it will cost about NIS 400,000. In addition to this legal case, there are several other cases that are in in the courts - the criminal case for land invasion, the case for demolition of the fence around the cemetery, the case of fines imposed by the state on the detention veterans. The financial burden is enormous, this struggle is crucial and our contributions together can produce great power and give some help to those who are struggling at the forefront.

Comment les villageois utiliseront-ils l'argent? 

Le prix le plus lourd est payé par les villageois dans leur lutte. Notre devoir est de rester solidairement avec eux, lutter avec eux et donner un aide également économique. Les habitants s'accroupissent sous la charge financière des frais de justice, des ruines et confiscations de leur matériel, de leurs champs détruits. Seul le cas juridique concernant la propriété foncière en plus de l'avis professionnel coûtera environ 400 000 NIS.
En plus de cette affaire judiciaire, plusieurs autres affaires sont devant les tribunaux comme : l'affaire pénale pour invasion de terres, l'affaire pour la démolition de la clôture autour du cimetière, l'affaire des amendes infligées par l'État aux anciens combattants détenus. Le fardeau financier est énorme, cette lutte est cruciale et nos contributions peuvent produire une grande puissance et apporter une aide à ceux qui luttent au premier plan.

who are we?

We are theater people and activists who have been working with residents of Al-Arqib for a number of years. Keren Manor , an activist who has been working with the village for several years, shoot produced and edited the campaign video together with materiel that Saback Abu Madgam, resident of the village, shoot. I, Einat Weizman, was exposed to the village story in 2015 as I worked on the play "Palestine, Year Zero", where the recurring ruins of the village and the struggle of the residents were described, among other things. In 2017 Nitzan Cohen, co-artistic director of the Tmuna Theater, joined me. We started collaborating with the village to bring the struggle to awareness through a series of theatrical events. The "113th House" in 2017 at the Tmuna Theater, the "139th House" in 2019 in the Jaffa Theater and in 2020 the "171st House" in the Saraya Theater in Jaffa. 

This campaign is the result of a meeting we held in the village initiated by Dr. Basel Ghatas and MK Sami Abu Shehadeh from the Joint list, where we decided on another channel of struggle and help with the understanding that dissemination of awareness to the events in Negev is not enough. The poet Dareen Tatour and the activist Ronnie Felsen joined us and together we decided on a בollaboration that will continue on all possible channels in the future and wherever we can.
